Re: My First TELEMASTER (ALL DONE)
Cool I'll try that out if I have a guitar to refinish some time. Also, I have a tele with only a neck pickup too, I just taped the whole in the bridge plate to close it. Do you have any idea if there are cheaper tele bridges without pickup hole? Not to keen to spend 100$ + import tax shit on a bridge. The other option I've been thinking about is just sawing of the piece of the bridge with the pickup hole and design a pickguard to go over it. Anyway, it looks really cool with that bridge you've got!
Really interested to hear it too! Post dem recordings!

Oh cool! Glendale is the only manufacturer I've found to carry no-pickup bridge plates. I know $100 is kind of steep for something that requires less effort, but it is definitely worth it. You could always get a custom pickguard made and get a bridge that has the cutaway so you'd still be covering the bridge hole.
I NEED to record this. ugh

Re: My First TELEMASTER (ALL DONE)
I'm so tempted to build a bridge pickup-only Telemaster guitar so that I can start a gimmicky band with skullservant. I'd probably have to use pickling stain or something on it to make it stained white, too.

Re: My First TELEMASTER (ALL DONE)
man, you are going to need a bridge pickup for that wah to really be effective!
I've been around the block and back...now i love me some bridge pickup - why all the hate?

I have alterior motives with that wah fixed wahness and weird sweeps for the filter
No real hate on the bridge pickup, it was actually going to have a Super Distortion in the bridge, but it sounded like shit paired with the Phat Cat so I axed it. And the Phat Cat has so much clarity that I don't even need a bridge pick up. It's hot as balls too. Like naturally overdrives my amp

Re: My First TELEMASTER (ALL DONE)
Skulls, what did you do to sand your body? Mine's not terribly rough, but it probably needs to be sanded starting at 400 grit and going up to whatever I want.
I also need to decide what to do about stain. I may just try to do a sort of tobacco brown-black stain on the back. (Like old parlor guitars?) dunno yet what is gonna look good with the orangeness of the padouk.

Re: My First TELEMASTER (ALL DONE)
@mathias- Yeah, I definitely will want another. I'd like a wood/aluminum hybrid most definitely
I sanded with 3 different sanding blocks, along with 0000 steel wool. Did 60 grit and worked my way up to I believe 400-600 before finishing with the wool.
And I think the tobacco-brown would look KILLER!!
@skip- thanks dude
I really REALLY had a lot of fun learning and making it

I had to buy it just to keep it close by for whenever he feel's the need to play it. I knew he'd miss it, so like a bro i bought it and kept it nearby.
