He doesn't need a license for it, but it's still not an original circuit
My issue was the traces are almost identical and the parts placement seemingly is identical which is ripping off taylor layout
Oh I got that! I meant that doesn't Taylor own that design because he created it off of an existing circuit with permission?
So yea, that's totally messed up if they copied his board.
Looks like a direct copy to me. No good unless permission was given of course.
Aw man, that sucks. I got all the way to the end of the thread as well, thought we were in the clear.
Anyway, thought I'd finally sign up after seeing this thread and wanting to give some support to jwar, but I'm also Scottish and now I can't be bothered

It's pretty much been established, but I'd just like to add that Scott at Gojira (as well as his girlfriend) is a certified sociopath and a compulsive liar. A truly wretched person who makes pedals of such laughable quality that it is absolutely incredible he is making any money. He's suckered idiots in with his stickers. The lack of any shred of self-awareness over his attack of another pedal maker for using Simpsons artwork actually suggests to me that he's not quite got it all going on upstairs, the fact he has been allowed to just let this latest episode slide and be forgotten about makes my head hurt. Can you tell I hate the guy?

Well I didn't want to tarnish my Facebook with drama is why I dropped it. I mean, I stand behind my principles, which are FUCK YOU if you have an issue with me. LOL.
I try and run a legit business that doesn't harbor ill will. Some people succeed in doing the opposite. Which baffles me. I see it all the time. It's really annoying.
He can have his Simpson's graphic.
Funny thing is I did that particular item on a trade, so I made zero dollars.

I don't have the motivation to ask Taylor but I would bet money that he hasn't sublicensed his layout, it's not 100% initial on the traces but it's cloe enough to be considered in my book a complete schill. The parts placement IS identical, too.
I imagine it's just generated in a different software or with a different autocad parts library. Other than that it's the same layout in my humble opinion and therefore ripping off way more IP than a Simpsons image....
Maybe I'll ask my friend who builds pedals to build me one with the same graphic. This is the most "h'wut" thing I've ever read. You could always make more! Or different pedals that share other unlicensed graphics with Gojira. But no, that would just fuel the fire. It would be an amusing 'FUCK YOU' and you're welcome to try it, however.

If he licensed the pcb from Taylor, fine, but I'd like to see evidence..
Also it's not even an original circuit, itself is Tim escobedos ugly face design...
HA! Wow. That's hilarious. I can confirm nobody's ever asked to license that board design from me. I'm not going to let it bother me, not a huge deal as far as it relates to me, but this is certainly interesting in the context of the OP and other things you can read online about this company.
