I constantly read that. I don't think it's that true. It's just a matter of how your brain is scaled. I'm pretty clear on the fact that below 0 is freezing cold, 0-10 cold, 10-20 moderate, 20-30 warm, 30 and more so hot I can't breath. I don't get why freezing starts at 32 and below in F. It should be a round number. Like 0

Fuzzonaut about the RM-1N:
"Amp in a box"?
No, there's no amp in there - tone fairies and feedback goblins live inside this box.

It's totally brain scaling and training. But 30* is a nice temperature in F and miserably hot in metric.

I prefer that the difference between freezing(32) and hot (100) is a whole 68° for Fahrenheit while in Celsius it's only 37°.Disarm D'arcy wrote:I constantly read that. I don't think it's that true. Because whenever I hear the news say something like "it's 50°C outside" I think "that's only twenty degrees above 30°, how hot can that be?" while if the news said "IT'S 120°F MOTHAFUCKA! YOUR CARS ARE MELTING." I'd be freaking out and giving Al Gore money faster than you could imagine.

There is one, and only one, advantage that imperial holds over metric, and that is temperature.D.o.S. wrote:Metric is fine for everything except temp.

Sad we don't hang out as much as we used to, vid.
Don't know what I think of this. I understand UC, but the Alexander dude had a pretty good response. Doesn't most chips in most pedals have unutilized slots too? I kind of understand that with other chips there is circuitry building involved to use the entire thing, but isn't it quite like coding for more modes for a spin chip? Personally, I wouldn't want to focus on three good modes and then add five crap modes just to fill it up. Difference with OBNE is that they put out more than one of the same type, like the dark star and procession, which could technically just be one thing. But for builders who make one pedal per effect it makes sense not to use all 8 slots.
