That's pretty much the only reason I've been holding off on buying one of their reverbs.
i still don't really get the difference between the procession and dark star, tbh.
also dr. ryantist is a legendary space wizard so unfortunately we can't expect bitquest-level development from most other builders.
at least they aren't milking the FV-1 as hard as keeley have been lately.

The same could be said for mr black and alexander, but as long as they are putting cool unique effects i think it will be worth it.

Agreement with all the other sentiments on OBNE. The Haunt and the Dark Star came the closest. Everything they put out is like "oooh, almost!"

If i stumbled on a Dark Star/Haunt deal like that $69 Supernatural that was in the ebay thread the other day i would definitely jump on it. Otherwise i just feel like i could meet what they do with something cheaper or more elaborate.

I would never buy from those guys so that didn't really convince me, haha. I got a F.13 from Disarm D'arcy though, and I like having it on my tabletop for droanz. Would never spend money on it myself though. I do love your AARP though (isn't that FV-1 based? I always imagined each of the eight pitch knobs correlating with the ports on the chip or something. Maybe I'm dreaming)!

I love my Black Fountain. I don't know of anything else, that's digital, like it.

Haven't tried their other pedals... But, I appreciate what those guys do.

I'll come out and say that OBNE has some of the best pedal artwork I've seen. Plus their Black Fountain pedal is a contender for prettiest sounding Knobs demo.

I forget where I saw it, but there was some thread where someone was criticizing a pedal company for using FV1 but not using its full potential, like with the bitQuest. I think it was Alexander Pedals. The guy responded and gave love to Ryan, but said that for most people it makes more sense to have a dedicated delay, or a dedicated modulation, etc, instead of cramming a ton of different effects into one pedal. So it's a deliberate choice on their parts.

I'd love to try out an OBNE pedal at some point but I feel like they try way too hard to be trendy and it annoys me really bad. LOL! I can't get past the hipster videos. They drive me bat shit crazy. I know a lot of you guys dig that shit, but it just bothers me.

Plus like others said. Almost usable but not really. I like Earthquaker more. That's the first thing that pops into mind when I hear these guys...
