Re: Sonic Crayon GAS!
I tried ~4-5 few codecs. UDA1345TS from NXP, A few of the 28 pin jobs from Wolfson and TLV320AIC23 from TI. The last one mostly because I had it on hand, as it was one i got working with thedspic33 setup. I think TI has better Codecs than that, but it is sort of a 'classic' maybe?.cloudscapes wrote:Coocox itself looks solid, I'm just bitter at the lack of clear examples and relative complexity of the libraries, compared to mikroC for instance. I may be reading it wrong.multi_s wrote:i just use coocox as well. It seems to be the best free offering? I am certainly not an expert on all of what is available. Even at the ST info session they mentioned it, although they had a list of like 20 something ide's haha. I like coocox cause i am a bit familiar with eclipse and CCS (also based on eclipse) so... I also tried IAR EWARM, this is not even close to free unless you have code size limit or time limit, but it also seems solid.cloudscapes wrote:what arm ide you using?
I might stick with pic32 for just a while longer, since I already know how to use it. If I can finally get the codec working, I might stick with it.
Which codec(s) were you using back when you were using pic32?
rounded corners FTW!smallsnd/bigsnd wrote:that's a good looking layout!
I'm hoping to really get into the ST shit now that I have more free time, so if i find some nice code examples for the peripherals I will pass them your way.
For your board maybe you should go pure smd, then you could flip components on both side of the board and make it small enough for several footswitches? It is a nice looking layout though

Re: Sonic Crayon GAS!
I've been playing around with the WM8731, mainly because there was a breakout board of it and the IDE I'm using sort of has a partial example (DAC only, no ADC). I can throw 16bit words at it and use it as a DAC just fine, and I can get it to send ADC data back, but I'm (and/or my code) is too dumb to read it. frame-mode SPI is tricky on these pics, apparently.multi_s wrote: I tried ~4-5 few codecs. I came accross this which may help you with the stm chips

me, I'm gonna stick with pic32 for a bit longer. jumping platforms/architectorsIDEs take up so much time/energy for me that it has to be so worth it.
I'm too slow with pure SMD! through hole passives is so much quicker for me! I suppose I'll eventually make the switch, but ehhhhh

So are you going to offer like a run of stuff here or are you just doing first come, first served? I've always been interested, but I never seem to catch your stuff when it comes up.

Those fucking monsters.
What the hell did they do to that finish?
It was so beautiful.
Also, don't pay that much. The Vessel's End can occasionally be had for $250.

Re: Sonic Crayon GAS!
What a fucked up listing. Not only did they wreck the gorgeous finish (despite listing the condition as "like new"), the title says $350 whereas the actual listing is for $399. Also why the fuck is the listing in Japanese (?), when the pedal is located in fucking Saskatchewan.
And seriously, what the fuck is with the picture of the Asian dude chilling out? I'm confused, and slightly agitated, by these goings on.

Re: Sonic Crayon GAS!
people can do whatever they want with my pedals once they've bought them. sand them, repaint them, mod them, etc.
I just can't get over how ugly that looks.

Why is there a bandai sticker on it? It's as if they had a sticker pack from some toys or something and put them all over the box. Gah.

What cracks me up is that logically someone must have considered that an improvement (given that it isn't normal human behaviour to trash an expensive and rare object).
Good taste is apparently very, very subjective.

is there still a wait list or is the luck of the drawl, spur of the moment name submission the new selection method for batch drops?
