Not only are they just headphones, but they are headphones that a) actually exists and b) are pretty popular, so really I didn't even think twice about them. :idk:

Unless you're saying something negative about a product, I'm not sure why it's ever not ok to just using something's likeness.

"I'm going to watch FlCl because I heard these kitty earphones is in there."
-No one ever ever

"Oh, check out those cat headphones! Can I buy those?"
-Some people somewhere

I got interested in Outlaw Star since I learned it has some similarities to Firefly. Is it worth subscribing to Crunchy Roll or tracking down a copy of the Blu-ray?

Unfortunately, it's not on Crunchy Roll and the blu-rays come out this week, so they'll cost you a full, fat fifty dollars, but it was a great show. You can stream it on 9anime.

Oh, I assumed since Funimation had the rights that it was on there. Thanks for the tip!

That show has actually been in my queue since it was first uploaded. I tried watching the English dub on either Netflix or the Funimation channel a few years ago and didn't make it very far. Subtitles will be preferable to lackluster voice acting. When my wife is in an anime mood again, we'll watch it together. Something tells me it will be a more surreal and cerebral take on a 13 Reasons-Why-type premise.

Outlaw Star is one of my all-time favorite Shonen space operas. I actually ended up watching it on multiple fansub sites in the days before streaming video providers diversified their catalogs.

I recently discovered that Amazon now has its own subscription-only anime channel, which seems bogus given what a Prime membership costs and how infrequently they update the Prime video catalog. Still, most of the titles to which they have exclusive rights look better than what Crunchyroll is simulcasting this season. Too bad the next season of Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress probably won't be included with Prime.

This anime season, aside from Tsuredure/Tsurezure Childre, is trash. :idk:

I guess Kakegurui too, but I prefer the source material so much more.

Anyway, Hero is kicking off and I started watching Engaged To The Unidentified, which is cute enough.

I didn't quite know what to make of the first episode of Texhnolyze, but became drawn in toward the middle of the second one. Also, the missus loves Serial Experiments Lain, so thanks for the recommendations.

So just how much more dull is the anime than the manga anyway?

Couldn't say. It's cute and sweet and that's all I want from it.
