IIRC the pair i kept--the first was too big--came from the EU where the shoe colors are much better than the US, e.g. i have a pair of Asics trail running shoes coming in which are a bo-ring blue/black color scheme here; the UK ones i'm getting are orange with black.
i can't wear a lot of the really retro shoes, though, because my feet are kinda wack and need arch support. Chucks are right out. but i would totally buy the Adidas shoes i had in the 1990s again. nowadays i tend to stick with more modern trainers when/if i can find ones that aren't fucking hideous.
there's a whole separate Asics website for the retro line at asicstiger.com.

What’s the fit like? Run slightly big? Slightly small?

Man I don't even know how to answer this question anymore. I wear like a 13 in a Nike, but I wear a 12 in converse, and my tigers are 12.5s because they actually make half sizes above 10.. I have skinny feet and they fit really well. Actually one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever had.
That's the best information I can provide

Have a ton of Asics (mostly GT-cools)
paired down the collection to under 50 pairs now I think (from well over 100)
