My son loves the Streek Hawk theme, but in the version from Tangerine Dream's album "Le Parc". He plays the tune over and over on any instrument.

This somehow popped up in my head today and I was surprised of how good it actually sounded when I went to listen to it :D

The riff at around 30 seconds into the the new drolo video reminded me of this for some reason:

Is the first song on here a Muzak version of "Cars" by Gary Numan?

i saw on Twitter that Yo La Tengo apparently played this in the encore spot of a show in Spain, and i cannae get it out of my head now. but then, i've always loved this song because it's so carefree, so far from his usual po-faced confessionalism.

"it happens
instincts lost
it happens
lost through purple blossoms
it happens
the desire
will turn
rotten"--Mark E. Smith, 1983

"your joys are counterfeit
this happiness corrupt political shit"--Richey Edwards, 1991

"the policeman isn't there to create disorder, the policeman is there to preserve disorder"--Richard J. Daley, 1968

A few songs of a certain type weighing upon me at the moment.

First up, Aldo Nova. Jump to 1:20 if you don't care about the plot of the video (or Aldo's Edith Prickley cosplay):

He went on to work with Celine Dion, as all Canadian musicians eventually do.

Imagine if someone had placed circa 1964 Ronnie James Dio in suspended animation. Not going anywhere with that, just imagine it.

Next up, Donnie Iris. I love this less ironically than Aldo Nova, even if he can't quite match the production values:

Finally, one of the last Jefferson Starship songs that won't make you violently ill, before they threw Jefferson in the bay. Fun fact: of all the singers they had over the years, Mickey Thomas is the one whose nose least resembles a penis.

Apologies for any PTSD.

"Edith Prickley Cosplay" 100% belongs in the band names thread.

This is one of those songs that I would never have been able to identify but is so totally vaguely familiar as a CanCon rock radio staple.
