"the void" was 2017 right? it was awesome!

Oh shit yeah, The Void really took me by surprise with how great it was. One of, if not the best Lovecraftian film I've seen with some really spectacular special effects.

I was eating a piece of sushi when the tentacle things started flailing out of that dead girl's mouth.
That was...quite difficult for me
The sound effects...

Fucking John Wick 2.

It's just like having a juicy burger at a tiny burger shack, it isn't high class cuisine but it's a fuckload better than whatever the hell Maccas puts out.

I need a 3rd one.

Never saw Alien Cov, the first Alien is in my top 3 favourite movies of all time. I even enjoy Alien 3 and Prometheus for what they are. Cov just looks like a waste of time, same shit in a new ship. I doubt Ridley even watched any of the other Alien movies.

John Wick 2 was rad.
I still wish there was a comic book it was based on so I understood what the hell was going on with the secret worldwide organizations and such.

I thought Alien Covenant was a solid 9/10. The dvd/bluray release will make it better for those who didn't dig it as much as it has deleted content that was crucial to the fucking storyline on it. Don't know why the fuck they did that. However, knowing it's one of 6 movies, I think it's fucking great.

The Void IMO was 10/10. It was amazing. Reminded me of Hellraiser in ways and a bunch of other fucked up shit.

John Wick 2 was super disappointing. I found it slow and boring when compared to the first. I'd only give that a 5/10 for it having some killer death scenes. The story overall was fucking dumb as hell though.

Logan was fucking amazing. That's easily a 9/10 or a 10/10. There are a few minor things they could have done better but overall, I think it was the most solid X-Man based movie that has been made.

Get Out was fucking HILARIOUS. I'm sorry but that movie is awesome. I am buying it once it goes on sale (like actually on a sale not for sale lol). 8/10

Lego Batman was the shit. I dunno how you all feel about it, but I loved it and the kids loved it. Easily a 9/10.

If Covenant is the nail in the coffin of the Alien franchise, I will never forgive it.

Maybe the next movie will retroactively make it better. Like maybe it's just meant to be act 1 and 2 or something.

I really enjoyed I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore

I don't pay attention to "universe" movies, so I most likely won't watch the various Marvel/DC/whatever films. A million of those come out every year. I would watch a Valerian-type movie if it was directed by Paul Verhoeven and starred Michael Ironside.

The new Blade Runner has me extremely worried. Alien has already been ruined by Resurrection and even the fourth installment of Mad Max couldn't do too much harm since Beyond Thunder Dome already screwed up that franchise back in the 80's. Blade Runner is unsullied, though. Why would anyone even risk possibly tainting one of the last standalone sci fi classics?

Prometheus would have been great if it had made any sense.

I'll have to check out The Void and Get Out.

We all know it's going to be shit, just look at the cast and the director ffs.

But, to me it's all about that nostalgic feeling.

Soundtrack is going to be awesome, I can feel it!

:wha?:
Arrival was dope (I've seen Sicario, but I don't really remember it, and I haven't seen his other work).
Harrison Ford is Harrison Ford, Mackenzie Davis is a solid actor, Lennie James is good, Jared Leto can be pretty good in the right part/with the right director, Ryan Gosling is loved by the masses. :idk:

I'd say there's a solid 50/50 chance for it.

Han Solo is fine, but we obviously have different tastes:

Just watched Louis Theroux's My Scientology Movie. Not sure if documentaries count, but it's pretty good. Nothing new, but definitely interesting and pretty raw in some places. Marty is the highlight of the film, for sure.

I wish all docs could be as amazing as The Act Of Killing, though. I think that one (as well as its companion piece) set the bar pretty fuckin high. Now I'm spoiled.

Michael Ironside looks like a workplace shooter - intimidating even when he's a "good guy" ... he is AWESOME in Scanners!
