lol. well. I'M not gangsta. at all. just been around some silly shit?

my little brother was always more interested in being hard. not a thug, just enjoys fights. worked as a bouncer at some DEEP Oakland spots, boxed a bit at local motorcycle clubs.

not my scene at alllll..

i am a lover. a salty, sloppy lover. not a fighter.

Yeah I think it's pretty clear that I'm also not very gangster. Won't get into it, but that's the choice I made (and why I'm dry/sober)--tons of trouble/incarceration/violence in la mia familia, so I chose to be the first to go to school and become invisible.

@comesect: no, I just told him he was an asshole and that the blood was for people who needed blood. I guess aggression worked.

@jrfox: Michigan is rad. You'd know that if your mom ever took you anywhere.

Can't wait for Thor: Raganrok.

I'll have you know that my mom once lived in Michigan and agrees that it doesn't deserve to exist. :success:

I'll take that seriously when she's of a legal age to have opinions.

lol. right? the first Thor was..... dumb. but kinda fun. second was hot steaming garbage. like someone dumped some bad Indian curry. then shit on it. then let it sit in the hot sun for 7 straight hours. a pile of hot steaming refuse even maggots would turn their noses up at.

but Rangoria looks AWESOME.

Marvel totally wins movies, but their TV still kinda sucks, and DC has always kicked their ass in the cartoon department (except for that one Silver Surfer series that had the Jack Kirby style animation). Daredevil had a few moments, but also put me to sleep several times as the episodes of all the Netflix shows are just too long and boring. I loved/hated Jessica Jones, but will watch the next season at least. Iron fist was awful, and I couldn't even finish the first episode of Luke Cage, so I can't bring myself to care about the Netflix Defenders, that doesn't have the Hulk, Dr. Strange, Silver Surfer or Sub-Mariner, or Nighthawk, Moondragon, Valkyrie, Gargoyle, Beast, Angel, Hellcat, etc.
My favorite comic culture productions right now are Preacher and American Gods. I always knew Neil Gaiman's stuff would conquer Hollywood someday, but I never thought I would see a TV series that was actually done like a Neil Gaiman series. The random standalone episodes really make it so much more like reading one of his ongoing stories. The cast is amazing, lots of cool appearances. The fact that Gaiman (and Garth Ennis on Preacher) is involved in the decision making for the show really makes all the difference. I also kind of love the Powers TV series because it is for hardcore fanboiz.

i liked Powers. kind of? felt wayyyyyy off from what i loved about the books. but i'm a slut for Sharlto Copley. loved the silliness of Hardcore Henry, the one he was in with the 17 hour shootout in the warehouse was so goooooooooood.

Preacher is rad!

Started watching Legion last night, and got really into it. Generally good stuff, and unpredictable enough to hold my interest.

The first Thor was pretty weird...they somehow managed to make a movie about interdimensional gods a pretty small affair.

Yeah, it was pretty well overhauled for TV, and I didn't really mind, because it was still the same Powers universe, which plays such a significant role in the shaping of the stories. Biggest disappointment from that was how they did Walker's past, because it's so much better in the comics. No Gora/caveman scenes? Bullshit. I'm also a Sharlto fan! He has a cool resume. He kicked ass in Elysium too, as the psycho paramilitary guy, got his whole face blown to pieces and reconstructed a minute later. Some of his acting in Powers is really really shitty, so bad that it seems like it's on purpose, for extra campiness when they're doing the gratuitous cop show cliches.
