Twin Peaks spoilery megathread - Hell baby god damn no
Why are we not talking about this? New season in like 2 months? I mean come on, at least let's talk about the Xiu Xiu cover album.
What's everyone's stance on this piece of fine American cheese? Besides D.o.S. who I'm sure hates it.

Re: Twin Peaks?
It's fucking wonderful.
I would be dubious about the new season, but it's David Lynch—I'm sure he's keeping it interesting or he wouldn't do it. There was that moment when he was going to bail... it really would've been pointless if that'd actually happened.

Is that middle aged woman with super powers who thinks she is a high school cheerleader in the remake?

I'd rather just see a new original David Lynch film, but whatever. I'll take it.

Love Twin Peaks. Not sure I love more episodes powered by nostalgia driven finance, particularly because the show did so much for modern day television that most people don't really think about. But Lynch can't really get the budget to make another feature film, so this is better than nothing.
That said, I saw this a couple of weeks ago:

It's not a remake. But, Nadine is listed as being in the first episode of the third season.
I loved the show. Although, Fire Walk With Me is far superior, imo. I'm pumped for the new season, because apparently Lynch was given much more control than he was allowed for the original series. That can only be a good thing.

Never watched Twin Peaks because every person in college ruined it. It's like the Reddit of TV Shows "hahahaha Damn fine cup of coffee hahahahahahahahahaha" no go fuck yourself.

Re: Twin Peaks?
Has he said this? Maybe not from a major studio, but I'd imagine he'd have zero trouble getting funds for an independent film, given his pretty massive cult following. If not that, I'm sure he could get a deal worked out with the streaming companies in a nanosecond, but we know how he feels about smaller screens...D.o.S. wrote:But Lynch can't really get the budget to make another feature film

Re: Twin Peaks?
It's possible his attitude may have changed in the last four years... but he still hasn't made a feature:
http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-enter ... 65457.html"It's a very depressing picture. With alternative cinema – any sort of cinema that isn't mainstream – you're fresh out of luck in terms of getting theatre space and having people come to see it. Even if I had a big idea, the world is different now. Unfortunately, my ideas are not what you'd call commercial, and money really drives the boat these days. So I don't know what my future is. I don't have a clue what I'm going to be able to do in the world of cinema."

I'm going to miss Audrey being a teen heart-throb but I do love me some Twin Peaks.

Re: Twin Peaks?
I understand his viewpoint, but it just seems kind of defeatist, especially considering the amount of indie films that are being made these days. I know the film world has endured some setbacks, but it still feels like there's not shortage of work getting out there. The theater issue seems like the biggest problem. He'd get tons of play in the rental/streaming market, but once again there's his desire to be screened in a proper setting.D.o.S. wrote:It's possible his attitude may have changed in the last four years... but he still hasn't made a feature:http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-enter ... 65457.html"It's a very depressing picture. Still feels like he's sort of given up without much need. Kinda reminds me of footage I've seen of Henry Rollins where he's convinced all young people think he's a loser, but they really just wanna talk to him.

Re: Twin Peaks?
The series kind of lost its grip on me towards the last half of season 2, even if it ended pretty well. I don't remember FWWM that well which isn't a good sign. I'm keen to see the new stuff.
