So on the direction of ILF, I watched Gremlins for the first time since I was little. Was such a breath of fresh air from watching Nightmare Before Christmas every fucking christmas - which had grown incredibly stale.

This movie rules. Long story short: I am now a born-again Gremlin.

Well I done fucked up. I watched the Autopsy of Jane Doe because Amazon.com had 99 cent rentals. I couldn't pass that up!! That movie was fucked up too! I loved it!! lol

Today (I guess yesterday now) I didn't get to watch anything Christmas related either. I just didn't have time. I did watch The Secret Life of Pets and Finding Dory with my kids though. I liked the first one. It was pretty funny.

I'm going to watch something Christmas related tomorrow. Come hell or high water by gum!!! :)

"Unorthodox" is going to be the key word here. The holidays are kind of a time of intense introspection for me and a time to get kind of 'heady'.
I. The less "unorthodox": I've been ACHING to re-visit this film but have consciously decided to hold off until Christmas Eve. I'm actually surprised there are more than a few people on ILF that seem to hold this film and director in as high regard as I do. I've seen tons of movies and it's very rare that a 'conventional' narrative has a personality as unique as this film.

II. Full blown "unorthodox" in every sense of the word, let alone "unorthodox" Christmas movie. I plan to watch Christmas day as all the festivities end and the stress of the holidays melts away. I've seen this movie several times and still have no idea what is happening but feel strangely 'moved'.

we ran out of good christmas movies a few years back, and had to broaden our scope. so we watched Santa with Muscles starring Hulk Hogan.
sounds amazing and the imdb rating of 2,4 feels dangerous, but i have to say: not worth it. not crazy awesome bad, just boring bad.

Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence has a fucking sweet theme song.

That "random industrial noise" or perhaps "large pipe being knocked on, with reverb" sample, however it's described, has been my favorite sample in music since I was little. It's in wintery type songs especially. I don't even know where it originates.

I can't believe their are still people in this world who haven't seen die hard, but every year we find one.

Merry Christmas Motherfuckers!

Literally has been a Christmas movie for me since I was 10.

I always say there's 2 types of people in this world.. those who celebrate die hard as a Christmas movie, and those who are wrong.

Oh that explains so much!!!!!!!

None of the plot holes diminish in any way from the greatness of the movie however.
