Speaking of Alison Brie, Bojack's finally over and it was pretty great.
Even the unsaid plot points were great.

Best gif.

Yeah I loved that movie, really glad I saw it at the cinema because I don't think it would have nearly the same effect on a small screen.

But really, this synopsis could be interchangable (hidden 4 spoilers):

NSFW: show
Following a tragedy, a group of people embark on an fateful/inescapable journey wherein they are ritually picked off one by one, with one crowned survivor.

May also include: ritual sacrifice of a beloved animal (family dog / bear in a cage), single use of 360 vertical pans (discovering the attic / entering Harga), kitschy/semi-ironic end title music cues (Both Sides Now by Judy Collins / The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine by Frankie Valli), and the use of mental illness as a plot point.

The director did make both movies back to back without taking any time off in between, so maybe that's to blame?

After all was said & done, it felt like he didn't really have much to say about anything, apart from the incredible visuals that were overtaken by the poor writing choices - the same could be said for Jordan Peele's Us, which was equally as frustrating.

Sorry for the complaining, everybody! Go watch The Last Black Man In San Francisco on Amazon Prime, which was the best movie I saw all last year.

Friend got The Lighthouse from the library and wanted to do a movie night but I'm holding out for a time when I can be completely alone and very high to watch it.

Latest Picard episode was disappointing.
SPOILER : show
The writing of Jeri Ryan's character was especially...bad. It didn't feel like I was watching Seven of Nine, just Jeri Ryan as that Jeri Ryan/Linda Hamilton type character. :idk:

I think the reason why the show hasn't really clicked for me is that there's a ton of intrigue and it reminds me of the conspiracy plot from the first season of TNG.

there's a sequel to Tetsuo:Iron Man? Tetuso BULLET MAN showed up somewhere when i was looking for something to watch. i'm.... scared.

Preacher was so meh. bummed that Hulu only has Legion season 1 and 2. want to watch threeeeeeeeee.

jebus John Wick movies are frustrating. i thought the first one was amazing, especially for how little i expected out if it. 2 is completely forgettable, 3 has some. RIDICULOUSLY GOOD THINGS about it, but so much schlock and blegh.

stated watching Battle Angle Alita, because fuck it, and.... nah. grabbed the og series of Kindle. rather reread that. anybody read the post OG stuff? like Last Order? worth it?

I really like each new season of The Chef Show because of how impressed professional chefs are by Jon Favreau's progress in his cooking skills.

I finally watched Midsommar yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a lot more creepy/psychological than I expected. Also some beautiful imagery. I was expecting a very different kind of horror movie. It was a bit predictable, though.
