I think, in the Netflix series, they kind of portrayed Frank as sort of perpetually wounded and pushing through. Sometimes more believably than others, but his character is just sort of the unstoppable will of someone obsessed, to the point that they don't care what happens to themselves.

Obey Giant turned out to be a really interesting, but also totally fucked up, documentary.

Wild, Wild Country on Netflix is a freaking trip. Well worth the watch. It has everything from great cons to sociopaths to high weirdness to mass poisonings. One crazy documentary.

Watching now on Hulu.
The body explosions were insane.

SPOILER : show
Edit: holy shit, that ending was not what I expected.
Part of it was obvious, but that very end, damn.
Hopefully this means Carter will finally let it end, maybe create a spinoff for Willy/Jackson  ;) .

The missus and I recently finished Arrested Development, which seemed too good to be part of a network TV lineup. We've now moved on to Hap & Leonard, a show that's proving far more quirky and interesting than anticipated.

i just started Dirk Gently's. LOVE it. was a fan of the book, this is better.

like almost anything Elijah Wood is in.

Gently? NEAT.

Wilfred? Cripplingly Roll Into A Ball Sad, but BEAUTIFUL.

Maniac? SUPER fun.

The whole show was such a mind fuck, but it was so, so well done. I felt it had some really consistent throughout and the ending was perfect; it came full circle in such a depressing but satisfying way.

Also, Dirk Gently is super fun. Just finished the second season not too long ago and really can't wait for more. Elijah Wood has been in some awesome shows recently even if he plays roughly the same character every time. He was good (and the same) in I Don't Feel at Home in the World Anymore too.

I'm watching the Ritual right now. Why the fuck did I decide to watch this late at night?

huh. i felt like he was more disconnected in I Don't Feel At Home Blah Blah. like, that and Maniac was pretty close to the same character at different points on their emotional breakdown?

Gently (and i'm only about 4 episodes in) feels like the most nuanced character i've seen him do for awhile. normal good guy everyman thrust into Weird World Times? but then he stole all his band's equipment and robbed his landlord?

DIG IT.

I guess I am generalizing a little bit. I more so meant that he plays some sort of emotionally disturbed but quirky guy in everything. Definitely a little more disconnected in IDFAHITWA. Wow that's a long acronym. The Gently character feels a little more on the quirky end of the scale, but still really good. I need to read those books now.

So the Ritual got much less scary when they started showing the monster more. It's still pretty good, but I kind of wish they never showed it. Honestly, I just want to watch Trollhunter now. That's a great movie!

"Hap and Leonard" is really good, but the books are even better. Well worth a read.
