I initially thought it was just a super campy, overtly Canadian "drama" where only good things happen, then Wheels' parents got killed and my investment skyrocketed. If real Canada was as interesting as Degrassi Canada I would complain about it a lot less.

I had a friend whose mom (who was early 30's-ish) would be watching Degrassi every time I went over to his apartment and she was there.

I tried watching a few episodes and it was just boring. :idk: :snax:
The only one I remember is some dude threatening to cut open another with a knife and then just dropping it or something and the show ended.

I have a lot of dead time at work so Degrassi is perfect for filling that because it's so endless and easy to not pay attention to but still know what's happening.

FRIENDS FROM COLLEGE is nothing short of comedic genius. For anyone watching I rewatched the Streetcar Name Desire scene 5x in a row.

That was hilarious as well! Netflix is like HBO in the late 90's as far as stand up goes.

Did HBO comedy really suck but have a couple of decent ones?
Because that seems to be how it's gone with Netflix.

 I meant that they're producing lots of specials (so the sheer volume of hour productions) and that I think most are hilarious. I love stand up though and I love to laugh

I like standup, but I tend to be very picky about it.
My usual way of deciding whether it's good or bad standup is if the comedian starts talking about the difference between vaginas and penises, especially if they do it somewhere in the middle. :whateva:
That's usually when you know they've run out of material and are just bullshitting to get through the act.

Rory Scovel was an exception because he pretty much started with that kind of stuff just to mess with the crowd.

I don't disagree. Doug Stanhope and David Cross are my two favorites. They seldom do that sort of thing. Both are super passionate about their material. I've seen Stanhope live and the bits he did that night are totally forever engrained on my brain. Not everyone can branch together Keynesian economics and female sex workers resorting to anal sex.

I watched the Rory Scovel special a couple times. I can't even explain why I like his comedy so much. It's like listening to certain bands, where I really like it and think "best not to share this with anyone else". He basically makes that kind of joke about himself while he's on stage. I do enjoy the fact that he's kind of intentionally button pushy, without trying to be over the top "edgy", he's just weird and silly.
