My washing machine died about 2 weeks ago. It blew balls. Luckily we had the money to buy a new washer and dryer (which was well past its prime too - only a matter of time on that hunk of junk), but it took a while for them to deliver it. And I'd really rather not spend money on appliances which in my parents' home lasted forever! In the meantime we had to drive our laundry over to my in-laws house and spend a day over there every time we needed to do the wash. Finally got the new machine this week and it's all fuckin' newfangled and has a bit of a learning curve to it. I haven't been able to get the hang of exactly how much of the fancy new detergent I'm supposed to use with it and it makes my clothes feel greasily soapy.

comesect's picture is how I thought I was going to interact with the new machine, but it's turned out differently so far.

I also just bought a washer and dryer, 100$ for both, dude said they were about 3 years old. The washer is fantastic.. it runs like a top and is a really nice one. The dryer.. I fired it up and .. wump wump wump wump wump.. Something was wrong. So I took it apart and found that the belt tensioner was missing the bearing/bushing assembly. I went to ACE hardware (the only thing open on sunday) and found a bronze bushing that fit both pieces and reassembled it with a couple of nylon washers on either end.. Put it back together and .. It runs like a top! So I had to spend an extra $4. It works though!!

Yeah, the spider arm on my washer snapped in three places (which is, apparently, fairly common, so I guess I lucked out considering that the washer/dryer are almost 10 years old).
I went and found one on eBay that had been sandblasted and coated with Carboline Epoxy (I guess that's supposed to be good? :idk:). All I know is everything else online looked like it came from the bottom of a landfill, so :joy: .

In the meantime I had to go to a local laundromat. It's not that expensive, but most of their machines are broken down and my clothes smell weird, so I hope that arm shows up soon because I definitely don't want to go back to the laundromat ever again.

Pretty sure my shitmate that's moving out at the end of the month stole my vaporizer. Can't find it anywhere in my room, the only place it lives. Do I call her out?
