Fuzz Righteous - Production has commenced - Now for Sale

Postby culturejam » Mon Sep 15, 2014 12:18 am

There were a lot of pitfalls along the way, but production is now underway. :!!!:

Final build details:

• Circuit is Based on the Mossrite Fuzzrite
• SS9013 Low-Gain Silicon Transistors (hFE ~100)
• Internal DIP Switch Bank for Modern or Vintage Tone Selection (input and output cap)
• Modern Components for Quiet Operation and Tight Tolerances
• Overkill power filtering and added RF-rejection filtering on the input (quiet!)
• Adjustable LED brightness (NEW!)
• Top Mounted Jacks
• 125B Enclosure Size
• Lifetime Support (if it breaks, we will fix it; some charges *may* apply in some situations...ask if you're curious)
• Comes with fun and stylish cloth bag with 424 logo stamped on it!

Pricing: $135 ($10 price drop from projected price)
Shipping: $5 US / $10 International

I'm working on a clip, but frankly there are already a ton of good examples of the general tone out there. In the "vintage" cap selection mode, it's trebly and spitty and classic-nasty; the modern setting is a bit more well rounded and can get some hints of octave up with the neck pickup and playing high on the fretboard (more bass friendly).

Here are some pics:

It looks very nice in person. My bandmates really like the style. And my bass player digs the sound: very "ordered". Played it almost all the time in last mondays band practice. It sounds a bit black sabbath like with my setup and playing - which isn't a bad thing but that was not expected

I'm glad you like it, and I hope the "not expected" sound is still good for you.

I've found I actually like it best with Fuzz about 3 o'clock and guitar volume rolled back ever so slightly. :thumb:

Thanks for the demo, tuj!

Don't forget that there is a pair of DIP switches inside so you can adjust input and output cap values. It can make a huge difference depending on which guitar you are using.

I actually built three more of these over the weekend. Forgot I had the parts and stumbled upon the box of stuff when moving things around in the garage.

I have them up on Reverb, but I will do a better deal for my ILF brethren (and sisterthren). PM me if you want one.

I wanted one of these last time they were up for sale! Why is my bank account never sync'd with this fuzz?

Well, if these sell as "fast" as the last ones, I think you'll be safe.

Also, I have parts for two more left. :yay:
