I know this can be done manually inside a DAW and i do that as is, but i wanted to ask ILF if there is any plugin, or even DAW, that allows you to basically loop live (in the same way that you would use something like a ditto) and records every dub as a separate stem inside it so that when you are done playing a set, you can then go in and mess around with all those stems to mix/master/do stereo panning, etc. Wanted to ask if anyone has had real world experience with this sort of thing. If there is anything out there that would work in this way, it would save me tons of time and would allow me to also throw a single mic in front of an amp to get things down and out of my head (or record improv stuff and later go back to deconstruct/rearrange it).
I don't want to sit in front of a computer programming something to do this, so the more forward and concise it is, the better. If i have to sit and program something to do something similar to this, then im better off just doing what i am currently doing with composing and arranging stuff.
any suggestions would be great
