You need something to convert your analog signal to digital. See this recent thread for some  :

Yes, probably. Your Portastudio has a USB out, right?

If the digital device you have can connect to a computer and operate on some common codec (USB, firewire, whatever) then you're set.

If none of the devices you own can offer a port that is usable by the computer, you need something else that is.

In my mind, DI boxes are a strictly analog device that performs impedance and/or level matching and will not work in the way you need.

the mk2 only has drivers for windows 7 and the other for vista, they won't work with windows 10 at all? sorry I'm pretty dumb when it comes to computer shit

How much are you willing to spend on an interface?

What's "really cheap"?

Why are you looking at discontinued products? There're plenty of newer interfaces available used for not too much money and you probably won't have to worry, at least for a little while, about compatibility issues.

Also, what's your computer and what does it support in terms of connections?

If you're rocking a desktop you can look at PCI based systems, which have gone out of style but hooking a PCI based Echo Layla 24/96 up to an xfce linux (Ubuntu Studio) was essentially plug and play.

You might as well just find a friend with recording equipment and use their stuff. :idk: That's the punkest way.

behringer makes some $20-$30 usb interfaces that are actually pretty good bang for buck.
uca202 or something. they have rca ins & outs tho. i believe there is one for guitar too.
