After all it's just a tool. My hunch is that the iPad needs more fuzz to really take off. Am I right?! Haha. On a side note bought Voice Synth tonight so I can get my Super Black Moth Rainbow vocoder groove on. Will play with it tomorrow.

voice synth is an interesting app! noob ? :

How do you connect an external mic to the ipad? assuming that I use a XLR to 1/4" cable ( currently feeding vox to a verbzilla)....

Sorry I missed this question earlier. If you are using a condenser mic that requires phantom power you're going to need something more robust but if you use a regular dynamic mic (no need for phantom power) than something like an iRig or Apogee Jam would work.

thanks homie! shit's been a BLAST. it's all the stuff i love about softsynths in a super intuitive and useful interface. really impressed with what the 'pad's turning into, music wise.

ooooo! that midi interface looks NEAT. seems like it might be better for home DAW work than live stuff though? i waited until there was a few options for interfaces. the Dock impresses me because it's a place to safely put the 'pad as well as a bunch of good output/input options. makes sense to me for a board style semi permanent setup?

wish it had a powered usb for a usb midi controller tho. that would help buncha.

lol. yeah. it has a B side usb jack, but that just works for talking to a computer. an A side 'un, powered? so you could plug in a usb midi keyboard and only need to plug the Dock into an outlet? YESH PLEASE.

You could make an album of fart sounds and nobody would know if you tweaked the samples enough! Just call the genre fart avant garde. Hey it rhymes, lol.

One thing I didn't like about the Alesis dock was that on some apps you gotta turn them sideways and stuff to access different parts of the app (which I think is horrible interface design choice). The iTrack solo I believe is usb bus powered but you gotta hook it up to a wall wart. The power has to come from somewhere. :idk:

Here's a synth app I'm looking at buying. Drawing in your own wavetables = neat-o!

And here's an app with a spectrum EQ, compressor, and limiter.

Hey doods, just got the iO Dock from Alesis and wanted to show what the iPad can do as a recording platform. Not just for demos, rough or live takes, but for a full song. Drums are from the DM-1 Drum Machine app, recorded with Meteor. Only complaint is I accidentally hit the undo button a few times. I also used the ipad's built in microphone for vocals as my mics are back home. Anywho here it is. :thumb:

Is the iphone version just a single sequencer? I'm thinking part of the cool stuff on the video comes from playing both sequencers at the same time.
