Let's talk cables

Not a super sexy topic or anything, but I wanted to solicit you guys' opinions on instrument cables.

Have recently been using 20' Planet Waves "American Stage" series but have had a couple of failures on fairly newish ones. I run three of these from the board to a bi-amp setup (one to each amp, one for channel switching), and it's about $50/per cable. Not awesome. I should also mention that I use pretty sturdy Bullet coily cables from the guitar to the board—but I expect those to need changed out more often due to the additional flailing and stepping-on that those will get.

So, mostly looking for something that can really take a beating but doesn't sound like crap. If you have a good bulk component recommendation, I'm definitely not against building the cables myself.

PS: If you've got any patch/jumper cable brands that have served you well, please feel free to share those too.

Hi!

Here you go. Some tutorials, for making your own cables and patch cables. They explain which components you should buy, depending on what you're searching for. By the way, this blog is really great for doomsters (lots of tutorials about fuzz, and even making your own Model T preamp ;) ).

Have a nice weekend!

Mogami Gold. A little pricier but will definitely last forever.

Built a couple of cables and patch-cables from Sommer The Spirit with angled Neutrik Jacks.
Pretty tough, good sound and if you solder your own you can source the parts for a good price.
The soldering the angled jacks took some time though.

I'm using Divine Noise cables. Great and no bullshit about directional cables etc...

Using some DIY cables with neutrik connectors from years up to now, never had any failure.
As long as I treat my cables well, they last long time.

I use Canare cable and neutrik connectors for my cables from bass to pedalboard. Redco has them for pretty nice prices.
