Bass VI in drop C

Anyone here playing a Bass VI in drop C tuning? I've got one of the Squier vintage modified ones and I feel like the obvious first action should be to put a hardtail on it, but I'd like to hear from anyone who's playing a Bass VI like this and how you got it to sound rad.
