Double cutaway LP jr with p90s = exactly what I need in my life

i had a gibby dc special w/ p90s but it was too fucking heavy for what it was. then i found the hamer jr and snatched it up for next to nothing and didn't look back.

So I've been considering using P90s for a build I've been working on. But the other day I caught a comment by the dude who runs Blackhawk Amplifiers saying how he dislikes P90s because he feels like he loses sustain to the hum/noise of single coils more quickly than he would with humbuckers. Can anybody chime in on this opinion? I do a lot of high gain droning chord sorta shit and would hate to sacrifice sustain in this way...

P90 through a Russian-Muff (the new one) into my JC50 has a lot of sustain.

ooof, i bet that does sound amazing.

apparently the pickups in classic player jazzmaster are more or less p-90s? between songs at practice earlier this week my bandmates and i were joking around playing sleep riffs, and once again p-90s through the right gain source proved to be very usable for the doomage.
