Speakers for 4x12

I'm looking for a couple of speakers for my 4x12. Right now, It's got G12T-75s in it (or maybe G12T-100s, don't remember). I don't really like them, because they have a weird upper-mid spike and no low mids, but I can't afford 4 speakers right now, and I figure they'd be a nice, crispy compliment for a speaker that had some decent lows and mids, especially mids. Anyone have any recs? I play tuned to standard, C and B (baritone). Amps are AOR 30, Acoustic 150, Tone Block 200 and an old PV PA head.

I tend to hate speakers. I have a G1265 that I like, and had some American-style Webers that I liked as well, & I Tolerated V-30s & Greenbacks. Looking for solid bass (doesn't have to be huge, tho) & some warm mids, hopefully with some Celestionic qualities that aren't overbearing.

I hear good things about the Weber Tone Cvlts. I'm gonna get a pair in my custom (bass) 2x12" in a few months

I like wizards and swamp thangs. But it always boils down to taste, obviously.

- Celestion C90. Clear, neutral sounding to my ear. Defined low end. Really liked mine. Wish I hadn't sold them.
- Jensen Electric Lightning. Jensen's take on a V30, kinda. Seems like C30 with mid hump moved a little lower, maybe?

If you can swing it, try to find a pair of EVM12Ls. Love mine. Super neutral, super efficient, huge bass.

Advantage of Eminence or EV: they'd dominate the g12ts in volume. What do y'all think of Governors? It seems like they'd compliment G12Ts - just a little stodgy on their own... I was also intrigued by the Mesa C90s because there are a lot of them available used.

Who am I kidding? I was all gung ho yesterday, on the verge of buying someone's used Wizards or some other other Eminence, but then I realized that I'm gonna have to get at least 50% more frustrated with my sound before I deal with this. I have pickups that'll make me sound way better that aren't even in my guitar yet.

good pickups that are properly adjusted are definitely the first thing you wanna do before tripping out over your speakers. but speakers are probably equally as important as pickups and speakers can easily be your weakest link, but with a good set of pups and a good speaker cab even a shit amp will sound alright.

G12Ts aren't horrible, and in fact, I'm getting kind of used the the fact that they have this twanginess that never goes away, no matter how much gain you use. Not the most powerful or pleasing speaker, especially down tuned, but distortion doesn't sound quite right unless part of your system is underperforming.

i used to pair 75s with greenbacks in a 4x12. they really balanced each other out.

Celestion is coming out with the G12H Redback/Ceramic x 2 inch voice coil, Vintage Sounding and 150 Watts. Will cost about the same as a Creamback. Its already out in Europe.

TAD has them on another round of Preorder, but should be available in USA this month.

Eminence Delta's or EM12's, not super expensive, really loud, insanely durable, and pretty even response with tons of low end.
