Just saw this new video on it that reeeeaaaally interests me.

Anyone have any experience with it? Is it a modification to a pre-existing circuit or an original one?

:erm: You should PM me. :snax:

It's originally based on the Fulltone OCD, but Ryan's done a lot of tweaking to the circuit. Great sounding pedal.

Looks like he might've took the Super OCD layout and added some mods. If so, good for him if he was able to build that circuit without the oscillation and make it better.

It actually doesn't use the mods in the the Super OCD, well the pre-gain bass cut is in the same vein as the bass control on the Super OCD, but the EQ is a full active eq, and different boost function, as well as some filtering. I do know what you mean with the oscillation though, that was a real mess when starting with the OCD as a base.

Thanks for clarifying. Even though the Super was more versatile, the eq wasn't as broad as it should've been, so it sounds like you've made some great improvements!

So, I got Chank's a few weeks ago and it's super rad. Now that I've had it a while, I think it's probably something that'll stay on board for the foreseeable future (it knocked my Mtl.Asm Positive right off the guitar board).
I keep the mids dimed, treble at 12:00, bass around 2:00, bass boost on, mid freq at 700Hz, diodes at center (I think that's no diodes?), volume cranked, gain at minimum, powered at 18V going into a Fuck Overdrive and it's sounds phenomenal.
I prefer the gain fairly low because it tends to get pretty muddy when the gain's cranked (especially going into another drive or a dirty amp).

I'm glad to hear you're diggin' it. I like what Ryan's done with that circuit. For what I'm using it for, I can get what I need from the earlier versions.

The III has much more tone shaping abilities though. Yeah, I like the gain about half way up or less on Bedlam Drives. It's a powerful pedal. I never tried it at 18V though.

I have no idea of the difference between 18V and 9V on it, really (I think it's louder, maybe?) , but I'm happy to have another 18V pedal because my PS (the huge CAE one) only has so many 9V outs.

Yeah, probably louder and more headroom at 18V.

I prefer 18V for me. The EQ also has a little more range, which is nice. Can get pretty clean 18V on the low setting so I use it as clean boost then kick in more drive in the High setting. Seems like most guys prefer the lower gain for guitar and higher gain for bass.
