my new band is in this lane. doom / heavy psych / noise on the music front, but the vocals are sparsely used heavily effected female vocals (verbs, delays, hardtuning, etc). primary vocal influences for aesthetic are more in the polica / panda bear "so much effects you can't tell what's being said" school.

i love doom, but something like 80% of the doom bands i hear I can't stand the vocals, so much cheesedick going on. one of the main reasons I love bongripper so much, 0 vocals.

Also, Second Grave is an ILF doom band with lady vox.

thanks :)

for weird hypnotic/psychedelic/folk/doom/ with female vocals I've been getting into Espers.
I read a review that called them a mix of Black Sabbath, Pentangle and the soundtrack from (the original) Wicker Man. so I immediately bought an album.
it's definitely weird and out there...lots of really cool stuff you only hear on headphones too.

Jex Thoth. Blood Ceremony and All Them Witches too though they fit better in the hardrock/blues category rather than straight up doom.

I'm hanging on to this thread as there are a handful of bands here I know I like! Can't wait to listen to the rest.

No one mentioned Subrosa? Violins, three women at the helm, heavy as hell.

Also Brume is local to me and very Acid King/Windhand adjacent: https://brumesf.bandcamp.com/releases

More like a stoned nirvana and they will bore you very quickly:

Not the trve doomiest shit out there but they can get doomy sometimes.

And obviously Jesu worth a mention.

Given your penchant for Acid King, I'd suggest starting with this track:

It is probably as close to that sort of "thing" as they get.

I dig Subrosa.

Also, maybe not entirely doomy, but a bit more dark stonery are these guys:

I was spruiking them a while ago, love this stuff.
It's like a (somehow) darker and sadder Mazzy Star.
