I also have the supermoon chrome. It's a beast.
Throw it in your effects loop for that david gilmour sweet spot.
Or just put it in front of your head for complete spacey ambient madness.

I quickly traded my Afterneath for a Red Panda Context. It's a fun effect but it's far too recognizable in my opinion. I felt like it always sounded the same (the delay lines always give you the same pattern or repetitions, basically) unless it was tuned down to sound more like a normal reverb, and for that it's less good/efficient than other pedals I think. Fun box but you really have to like its character...

Anyone using spring reverb? Just curious.

Isn't the Ghost Echo springy? I want one.

Afterneath is awesome but it definitely doesn't do normal reverb as well as it does crazy noises.

I want to keep the Afterneath for long spacey atmosphere and get a Ghost Echo for more tame springy stuff.

I ask because I'm favoring my amp's nice spring reverb to the Ghost Echo. Both have about the same (very very low, but I'm picky) noise floor of hiss but the spring reverb is just so good on my amp. I figured it wasn't quite what doom folks are looking for in reverb, but maybe a really long decay, bright spring reverb tank with the level down relative to your dry signal would be good on certain things.

And realized I asked about the Procession and Afterneath while saying I was replacing the Ghost Echo -- mostly because of spring reverb being covered by above -- I use the RRR more as a before-dirt reverb on the R1 setting with short decay and the level boosting up above unity. So a modulated reverb like the Procession might be worthwhile to try.

I use a lot of fuzz too, I use an ES-2, and I don't get along with most 'normal' reverb pedals either. Well actually, my fuzz peds don't.

You're looking for something that's not a reverb, nor a delay. You're looking for an Afterneath. True, it's not super versatile, but who needs a bazillion different sounds in one reverb pedal? Compact, top jacks, and very affordable compared to most other tricked out reverb pedals out there. Handles fuzz like a mother, which might be because it doesn't act like a normal reverb pedal.

I still wouldn't mind an RRR on my board as well, but for the kind of stuff I'm playin lately it'd probably be overkill, I don't really *need* more than the Afterneath.

The only reason I want a second verb is for really short springy verb. And you can find Ghost Echoes for $100-$120 any day of the week.

Do you notice a volume drop on fuzz through the Afterneath? I have the mix at noon but I feel like I lose a little when I turn it on. But if I lower the mix much more, the verb isn't as prominent as I would like.

so I have traded a red panda for a dispatch master for a spring theory
now I'm like whaaaaa
was considering the source audio dimension after much debate
I found the red panda to clip with a hot signal and didn't jive with my setup
the dispatch was cool and wish I still had it but pricey for what it was I guess, wanted more out of it
I tend to get weird which is why I love EHX

any other rm-1n owners out there?

Handles bass great with the damping/tone knob turned up. It gets way weird and wet, and with so many different verbs...plus an echo mode, so I still have delay if I want it. Im sure the afterneath is awesome but Im sure this cathedral can do way more.

Thanks for the suggestions people!

Hell yeah. Cathedral is the best.

I love either my RRR or Ghost Echo after dirt, and the DBA before dirt.

RRR and Ghost Echo cover some of the same ground, although generally I find I prefer the brightness of some RRR settings to the Ghost Echo with my darker sounding rigs. If I had to use one of these in front of fuzz I'd go RRR, but the Reverberation Machine just adds those mudflaps to your fuzztone like nothing else.

Anyone used the Afterneath before dirt?

Afterneath not jiving with my setup or my preferences.. I've got amp spring reverb but thinking I'd like something else besides the RRR on my board, post-dirt. This thread has been useful to review my options. Digging the delay+reverb sounds of some pedals like the Dispatch Master but I could also just combine delay pedal + reverb pedal.

I feel like I need to try out:
Red Panda Context
EQD Dispatch Master
EQD Disaster Transport
Mr. Black Supermoon is probably too much like the Afterneath..
Blue Sky? Maybe.. Maybe more like the Strymon Flint..
Or just get another Ghost Echo haha.

any I'm missing that I should try out before deciding on the next purchase? (Found a local store that doesn't have all of these, but they carry EQD..)

I really like the Blackout Effectors Cadavernous. The swell feature is top notch. Wide range of sonic possibility.
