Who has experience with Dirty Heshers/other Lace sensors?

Postby pelliott » Sat Dec 20, 2014 1:26 pm

So rather than buy a new guitar I've decided to trick out my Artist reissue. I'm gonna take it to a good guitar tech and get it set up for C standard and replace the pickups/electronics.

I've been eyeing the Dirty Heshers for a while and can't recall who here has used them, or if anyone has experience with some of the other Lace sensors/signature models? And if so, what do you recommend for electronics to go with them?

Total opposite of where you're headed, but I would be lost without my Gold Lace Sensors in my Strat. Warmer than vintage Strat tones with a little extra midrange push, no noise, and can handle high gain just fine. Yes, thank you.

one of my dads strats had laces in it. IIRC a red label a blue and a gold?

that strats the best sounding strat ive ever heard.

ive played some lace. . . fuck. . . what were they. . . . nitro hemis? they were pretty goddamn bright. but the articulation CLEAR as day, much better then just boosting the treble. I didn't get to fuck with the EQ but I bet a twist on that treble knob would've made it not so damn bright.

from what i understand, the dirty heshers are based on the nitro hemis (with debate on whether they're just relabeled).

nice one pelloit...

i thought heshers were Matt Pike's signatures right? I seem to remember that Mastadon folk used Nitro Hemi's for ages before they got their sig models. I would say Heshers sound (from the clips) similar but fuller version of the Nitro Hemi's...i'm going by Youtube, which is shit for working out differences between pickups!

Use the coupon code "stnick" at checkout. Like I mentioned, too, they're backordered currently so hopefully they'll ship out SOON

Very little about it I don't dig, it's a fantastic guitar. The pickups are a little low output for me and I want to change those out for something a lil more ballsy, and get an honest to god setup done on it. Still such a good guitar for the money.

Right on man. I may email that dude after the holidays and see if he wants to trade.

And I also need you to go ahead and give me your updated thoughts on the Arrows
