Had a matching cab but not a fan of the g12 70's in it so had to pass on it. Found an old sunn 2x12 for $75 but some dick tore the tolex off of it and painted it neon green. Im just gonna refinish it to match the emperor cab it will be sitting next to and throw some g12 85's in it.

I was watching this one on CL. The dude dropped $200 off his original asking price for head and cabinet, I was all set to pull the trigger, next day it was gone. Bummer for me, good for you! Nice purchase! That white is badass. But hey, I have the same amp in black...do you really need two? Probably... yes...

Can confirm. 2 is infinitely better than 1.

Two does indeed sound nice, unfortunately I need some cabinet action in my life. The misses has made it clear no more gear until after our daughter is born. I just took a trip to bum fuck egypt the other day and bought some rare ass big muff and she instantly jumped my shit.

Then I made the mistake of showing her what the last marveltone d/s I seen sold for and she wants me to sell my new toy, no way.

Anyways someone should trade me a cab for some speakers and pickups, to help my cause and keep the peace at home. The AOR just doesnt look right on my vertical 2x12's. Then im also in a bind because I cant fit 4x12's in my modest family sedans.

A marshall 1936 2x12 is what I really need then a 2nd AOR.

I got a Blackstar Artisan 100w on the way and haven't told the wife about it. It's always better to beg forgiveness than ask permission...

The way I delt with that was basically making enough money with selling paintings that my wife doesn't know how much I spend on gear. She knows I do since everything comes to the house. so all she keeps asking is why do I need more and more of em? I said cause I can.

Lmao, my girl is more of an "eye for an eye" type. Her thought process behind my GAS is... "So you spent $500 on a guitar". "Now you can spend $500 on me". Seems to be the only way to stay out of the dog house, but in hindsight is probably the single reason why I don't own a piece of gear costing any more than 5 bills.

Ha!, too funny...she's got some serious negotiating chops. Has she ever been on "Shark Tank".

My fiancee finally got annoyed at my gear purchases cuz I got a 4x12. Then I realized the only place I could actually fit it in the house were living room and dining room. Plus she knows I got no moneys. Skateboard & longboard gear > music gear. Cheaper, faster, easier to hide, esp. since you don't need an audience.

For those not using the built in AOR distortion, what are y'all using to boost pedal wise. Also, are you running drives/boost in the low input or high? One problem I'm having with mine is I get no decent sounds or volume until way past 6 on the master volume knob. The difference between 5 and 6 is a quick jump, is this a problem others are having? Maybe I need to experiment more...

For some reason with mine, I notice the same thing. I discovered running a volume pedal in the effects loop chomps down on your volume some without fucking the tone up terribly, so you can crank the MV up to a point where it sounds good. That point for me starts around 4. I feel like there was something funky with how they implemented the MV, I just can't recall quite what. I boost mine with a Naga Viper clone and or OCD clone, depending on how saturated I want my sound.

Agreed that 4 on the master is where things start to sound gooderer.
I have achieved some nice sounds with pre on 4 and master just before 2 on the low channel, though, for home levels.
I leave the bass cranked but not pulled and the mids and trebles not pulled and cranked. Gives a nice warm and very clean bed for a Black Forest or Ape Blaster.

I have the 6 knob, if that makes a difference.

As there were many variations between models and versions I think they're all prone to idiosyncrasies.
