Thank you! That's what I want them come across as in pictures and in person. and then you plug them up and your head explodes like in scanners.

Sooo guys, any comments on whether or not this will work to cover my cab? Instead of tolex? They call it "Carbon Fiber Vinyl Wrap". It's twill weave, some cab builder once told me that any FABRIC with a twill weave will work for covering amps. This is no fabric though it seems. Any advice would be appreciated!

Don't think it'll work how you envision on a cab. I would have to see some in person but it looks like it won't hold worth a fuck.

That Vinyl probably will work if you smooth the surface you're applying it to completely and clean it with alcohol before. I work for a sign company and apply that exact kind of vinyl constantly, can really stay on anything durably if applied correctly. I've even wrapped guitars with chrome vinyl.

Sounds good! What kind of prep would I have to do exactly? Sand it really smooth with sandpaper and then clean with alcohol? Then what kind of adhesive would I need?

Thanks!

It may be tolerable, but it may be too weak and stretchy for a cabinet. You'd really have to look at it and check it out first. Tolex is a good deal stronger and more durable than most other vinyl coverings. I'd wrap a drum set in that, though.

Just finished my first cab for someone other than myself. Im a bit upset with how the finish came out. I didnt get enough clear on the edges so the wet sanding fucked with the grain, and thus the wet sanding process. I need a real spray setup. Nevertheless, it sounds massive.
Orange dimensions but fender style. Loaded with a swamp thang and tonker.

Looks good, I don't spray. I brush everything.

I'd love to have the time, tools, and skill set for finishing carpentry to be able to build these myself, but I know that Petras at Atlas will crush these for me. The goal with these two "towers" is to incorporate 15s (they'll be separately sealed) with 12s, have something relatively flexible/portable, and to harness the power of Satan — creating an inverted cross when side by side.

Here's my mockup in oxblood stain, but final color is going to be an olive yellow/green stain.

very cool looking. I did a couple of 3x12 towers for a dude where the top two were sealed from the bottom and the bottom had a vent. he is using some hiwattage speakers and I did a monojack for each speaker for the head he was using for it.

Rehoused the Earth from a gnarly 410 combo to this head shell. First time building such a box.

Dumb question but seems like a good group of people to ask. Is the input jack on a cabinet just a normal 1/4 jack, Im tired of the plastic one used on my marshall cabinet coming loose.

yea it's a 1/4in jack. you can get like a switchcraft. or nutrik one to replace it. so it's metal.
