I had one, ended up hating it personally. It's technically a two channel fender twin design (aka the red knob twin or evil twin just in a headshell). The clean channel sounded great until about 6 and then it didn't get any louder it just got fartier, the distortion channel sounded great but dimed was only half the volume of the clean channel. It might have been the head I had needing new tubes or a bias or something but I really wasn't happy after playing 2 shows with it.

If you're looking at one because you want an original then definitely no. Entirely different amp. If you're looking at one just because, then maybe it'll work out. But don't get one just for the name. It's NOT a Sunn Model T. It's just another amp. Play one and want one if you're gonna pick one up. Just don't fall for the name.

I think if you like it for what it is, get the one that says "fender" on it instead of "sunn" and you'll pay a lot less for it.

Truth. If you're looking for something for funeral doom, I would get something in the JCM 800 family or one of the many variations.

Maybe it was just me, but Colosseum didn't sound even remotely like funeral doom when I saw them. Either we're talking about 2 different bands, or their sound has changed considerably over their career.

ok, lets list the JCM800 varients that may or may not go for less/sound even better.
Peavey Butcher, VTM
Laney pro tube
Sovtek

Help me out here guys, I know there are bunches.

I would just look for an amp that is GOOD, and adjust from there.

fucking hell, they're usually twice that around here. i sold my 800 for $1200 last year. the dude was stoked and drove from 2.5 hours away to get it cause the 100 watters pretty scarcely come up. if i could find them at $600 i'd take two. let me know when you find those. i'd try to see if they'd ship to me. it'll be another month before i can afford an amp though.
