Peavey T-60 Pickup recommendations

Peavey T-60 Pickup recommendations

Postby ridingeternity » Mon Jan 20, 2014 4:33 pm

Picked up this Peavey T-60 yesterday and am loving the range of tone it provides, however I would like to put some better humbuckers in it...anyone here with an Ash bodied T-60 have a good experience with any other pickups? If so please share!

I thought everyone picked up the T-60s/40s specifically because of their weird pickups? All that out of phase and weird filter nonsense? Personally, I'd leave them be.

Sorry I can't be of more help.
Good Deal List: bearbeams, pena_55, sonidero, greyscales, ChetMagongalo, xchristophex, Monkey Boy, krautrocker, osbornkt

Pretty sure you can wire any 5-wire HB to do the same thing as the stock pups?

Yeah I just checked the wiring Diagram and it will accept any 5-wire pickup in the same wiring scheme. Thinking Warpig neck, Nailbomb bridge...or Stonewall EFX set.

I like the stocks in those. There are some cap mods you can do to them too.

And yeah im liking the stocks more and more the more I mess with them, I had the theory backwards and thought they were HB above 7, single below, now that I know its the opposite, they are growing on me.

Most definitely man! Here are a few links in which I used it to record some demos of Dunwich pedals on a Gibson Falcon(1961, 20w 1x12 reverb combo), had to deal with my cellphone mic as when i went to grab my sm57 I came to find my drummer lost it on the last tour...

Clean, no pedals, Reverb + Trem:

i've got nothing helpful to add, but i'm curious how it works out. i've thought about picking up a t-60 before. they're cool and cheap. i also like those t-40 basses.

Have you thought about switching the magnets first instead before a pup swap?
