Matt decided to step down after going through a divorce and wanting to spend as much time with his kids (which is what i would do if i were in his position). Sucks because he and i rarely lock in on the same thing. Luckily i ended up writing the majority of our new album and it doesnt sound bad with one guitar. Some parts we leave out so the bass and drums cover everything, some the keys play his part. There are about 3 sections though that need two guitars on.

I have a Jamman stereo and loop stuff at home, mostly noise bits but sometimes i loop and play over it when trying to come up with new parts. I have a hard time playing to a loop with the band though. I can never get the levels right. It seems with a lot of fuzz it just becomes a big ol compressed pile of turd. It loses a ton of clarity. How do you guys remedy this? Ive tried running a wet dry rig where my reverbs, delays and loop go to my JMP and the Matamp gets fuzz only. Ive also tried running full stereo from my Timefactor to the Jamman to both amps. Neither really made a difference. Is the mushy loops just a Jamman thing or do they all do that with high gain? FWIW, my amps are high headroom.

I think the only way to avoid the mush would be to have a setup wherein the loops play through one rig while you play through the other. Pulling that off while still being able to use both rigs when the looper isn't active would probably require insane tap dancing or a midi setup though. My buddy Zak from Anagnorisis used to (and maybe still does) loop rhythm guitars under his leads with one of those big Boss samplers and a setup too complex for my caveman brain.

The only other option I can think of is to have the loops come through the PA. I do this with a few ambient lead line type parts in Glacial Tomb.

I think I have the looping worked out. Ended up running the loop into both amps surprisingly.

Also, I got to play around with this all day. I've wanted a reverb pedal that worked with higher gain and always came up short. Nick knocked it outta the park with the Gravity Well.

the last 40 seconds of this are hellishly impressive. BTDR-3 sounds allot better to my ears then the BTDR-2

I know I'm quite late, but this is more or less how I've run my looper for the last couple years. Almost full wet from the loop in one amp, no looper in the other. Having a separate EQ at the amp level for both the looped signal and the dry guitar has been helpful.

Also, hope everyone had a great New Years!

Its really nice. I need to spend more time with it but its very nice sounding. Not as dark as my Moog but handles being driven hard even better than the moog.
