The Doom Room: ILF Edition

The Body tonight for the several-th time.

When I grew up, when I would hear metal bands and stuff, it was like I was amazed how crazy it was, it was like I’ve never heard anything like this. Now it’s like, “Oh, this sounds like Black Sabbath, but like a shittier version of Black Sabbath.” My fucking dad could listen to this. It’s not what I want when I want to listen to extreme music, or underground music.

New Whores. and Khemmis tracks are both rad.

Moved into the new house this weekend. Moving is the worst.

New EP released! Super excited about this, I love playing with Krista and Brian \m/

https://benthicrealm.bandcamp.com/album/benthic-realm

"Formed in July of 2016, Benthic Realm conjures melodies and crushing rhythms from the dark abyss. The trio consists of former Second Grave members Krista Van Guilder (WarHorse, Lucubro) on vocals/guitar and Maureen Murphy on bass, and Brian Banfield (The Scimitar, Blood Stone Sacrifice) on drums."

Got one of these coming. Anyone have experience with it? I'm hoping to stack it with my Pharaoh for the massive wall of fuzz but I haven't seen any videos of them being stacked. Sounds good into a dirty amp though so I figure it would do ok. Supposed to be a modified Meathead.

Well I just bought a 70s Japanese lawsuit LP so I guess time to start looking for humbuckers (says the guy that's played Jaguars and Jazzmasters his entire adult life)...

It doesn't have any pickups, I bought the husk for cheap off a local... have most of the rest of the parts to make a playable guitar but the only pickup I have sitting around is a single coil Duncan Quarter Pound Strat pickup...

I'm watching a couple of eBay and Reverb sales, mostly old Duncan and Dimarzio sets from the 80s...
