HM2 Kit

Post by new05002 »

Update: 12/22/2014

First HM2 Kit finally finished

I need to make 1 more PCB revision, I wanted to include a different Clip switch approach. However the pedal did sound great and I hope Will enjoys it.

I'm in. I already have an HM-2 but I could use another one for my bass rig for sure. Would an enclosure be included or would there be an option to use our own? Though those gnarly acid etched ones are...gnarly.

You could use your own. I likely wont be drilling them if I bought them.

In. Out of curiosity what mods are there for the hm2? Also, if this gets off the ground is there anyone who wants or can do an etching on the enclosures? I don't really know anything about etching but would be interested in getting a nice enclosure.

in this kit it would only be component swapping to be honest. I dont wanna make it a huge pcb so that people find it overly complex to build. Swapping the EQ center points, changing gain levels, changing diodes in the clipping circuit.

A lower gain HM-2 would be sweet for bass.

This sounds killer.
I'm down, but I'll probably source an enclosure locally to keep costs down.
Nick, would you be able to post those mod/component swap values and their outcomes here when this starts to fly? Just so they're all in the one convenient location?
Also, will this be TB or are you leaving the buffer in?
Please tell me you're including a bright-as-the-sun Orange led in the kit. Black and orange keepin it real.

I can give you general mod advice, like how to shift the EQ center points around and how to increase or decrease maximum gain, and how to swap in different diodes.

This unit will only have 2 bands of EQ so it wont be nearly as fun as the modded HM2 I sell which has 4 bands of EQ.

well I'm still interested especially if you do a write up with the kit on mod options. Might just have to have both down the road. :thumb:
