Socrates Classic Distortion

This is a little pet project that we've had in the works for a while. It's a classic LM308 style distortion circuit with a modified tone stack. It will probably be another month or so before it's out, but I'm looking forward to it.

Can't wait for this to see the light of day. Please tell me it works well on bass...

It's out now. I haven't tried it on bass, but it has plenty of low end, so it should work well. I really, really need to get a good bass rig for the shop. That's long overdue.

does it do that really obvious compression on the attack that the older Rats do when you lay into it and the distortion is up above noon? That's honestly the reason the early Rat is my fav. distortion.... that bloom you get on big chords and when you're crushing the low string on a heavy riff.
