What would you like to see from ARC Effects?

Postby ARC Effects » Thu Sep 13, 2012 1:45 am

As ARC Effects grows and I move away from custom one offs in favor of production models I'm curious to know what you guys would like to see?

Well I must say the DAM FR70 clone I bought from you was killer. I'd like to see a pimped out Fuzzrite style fuzz, huge gain range and some extra EQ options

To bump this and expand on the idea.... I think it'd be awesome to do a short run ILF forum exclusive pedal because well....you guys rule. Would you guys be interested and if so what would you like to see? Keep in mind the sky is essentially the limit since I'm now setup with a custom metal fab shop and silk screener so the enclosure size/shape/layout as well as graphics can be completely custom :!!!:

A Mosfet and JFET drive in one enclosure with the ability to run either, both, or stack one into the other, and change the order via a switch. And a blend pot for when you run both.

Kind of combines some pre-existing ideas (ala Very/Seriously/Ultra/Fantastically Special Twosomes) with something different.
Good deals on ILF: too many to list, just ask!

Fuzz that handles complex chords and simultaneous notes nicely; maybe Companion Fuzz-based? I know there's a ton of clones of that one out there, but maybe you can cook up something new? :thumb:

Companion based would be cool but wouldn't be too chord friendly

Hmm, I was reading in some old book that compared to Fuzz faces, it handled chords better. But then again, that's what they thought then.. I've never played one :(

My FY2 is gnarly but chords kind of get destroyed, I do have fairly high output pickups though :idk:

Trying to think of ways to make a fuzz handle chords better. Separate the treble, mids, and bass frequencies and fuzz them separately? Some distortions work like that.

For chord handleage you should have a multiwave fuzz. If look at two simple fuzzes. One that's tuned for high end, and good clarity on highs, and one tuned for lows and clarity on lows. Then have a mix knob between the two. You could even keep it a two knob, volume and blend. And then maybe an internal gain trimmer on both circuits.

I like your design work a lot. I'd suggest a footswitchable boost, but I like how simple you keep it.

Um, a simple analog chorus that can get broken sounding?
