]First time poster, been keeping an eye out here since my Ct5 arrived from the last batch.

I've done some over-the-top noodling, trying to figure out what this thing does, but here's my first attempt to integrate it into a track:

I put the Ct5 in the effects loop of my mixer so I could use it to wiggle any of my tracks coming in (basically: two different effects/loop chains originating from my beloved Concertmate-500). The goal was to use it to add some subtle textures. It mostly comes up from the middle and onwards... and there's a couple points where it's not subtle at all, it just swirls up. But I'm pleased with this overall.

Sounds pretty guud man. Haven't made it all the way through but checking it out now.

Here is another album someone sent me which has a bit of ct5 on it, but also is just pretty cool. Opening track really gave me a tobbacco vibe at first

and yet more music from the same person responsible for the graphic world.

Also NYC was great, many thanks to everyone who was there, particularly Drod!

Any thoughts on making adding the mix to expression in future versions, Scott?
I kinda like using mine as a ring mod, but the way I use ring mod (mixing it in to the signal ala Greg Edwards) isn't really possible with the CT5.

i think it is unlikely.

you could go all wet, put the ct5 in an clean blend/effects loop type deal with a volume pedal after the ct5 in the loop. so you fade in the ct5 with the clean via the volume pedal?

Yeah, that's my plan, actually.
I just prefer to avoid adding pedals as much as I possibly can.

Sorry for the self-centered request, but I was just curious if you were doing any one-off/custom mods at this time? If there were a CT5 with an option to flip the speed/dir control between its current functionality and timestretching (just speed and direction without changing pitch) that would be incredible.

I mean, even more incredible than it already is...

As cool as that idea is, it seems impossible. Timestretching is a different thing to the ct5 abilities

Yeah, somewhere a while back in the pile of this thread I asked about this and Scott said it wasn't that hard to implement in theory, but that he didn't have any plans on doing it for the CT5. I was mainly curious if anything had changed in his plans or if it could be done as a 1-off.

I was talking the other day, a dream pedal for me would be the Ct5 mode 3 with only 1 head. Where an expression pedal would work like a tape head position controller. Toe all the way down would be the end of the loop. Heel down would be start of the loop. That way you could manually scrub a loop including pitch via your speed.

Bonus points if the loop could auto-reverse when you get to toe down or heel down. So you could loop it by rocking your foot back and forth.

Whoa, nice dream. What if there were two heads with expression control & you could sweep them independently?

haha no jk it's good idea i just don't think you could move your foot smoothly enough. maybe make the knvbs control some sort of lpf on the expression sweep?

Idea wouldn't be for smooth for me at least. You could do all kinds of weird broken tape stop sounds and FX. and essentially do turntable style scratches with your foot. For your skee-lo cover band.

filter knobs would be cool too. That could almost take it to mellotron sounding drones. if your careful.

If you do constant pitch, you could essentially make a floor hurdy gurdy pedal. flurdy gurdy.
