Man I wish my 856 was layed out like that. Looks totally more intuitive.

Well fuck me for buying early then.

Looks like I'll have to get another, which I was planning on anyways.

Welp, I'm probably going to try and upgrade for midi thru. Is it midi thru or out?

I don't remember we talked for a while not just about pedals.

No worries. Pretty sure the 856 mk1 has no midi clock... Not sure if it's possible the way it's designed. Still a cool looking pedal.

hey really nice to chat with you in person at sx. thanks for stopping by.

it is only midi through, the pedal has no midi out functionality.

the pedal is otherwise the same core. there are some changes to the firmware but you can update the old ones to the same changes, we will put up the firmware when we are done/shipping the new version. the only hardware diff is the I/O, with a midi thru and the usb port is exposed on the back of the pedal so you don't have to open it to update it.

there is midi clock added to the firm, but again this will work on new and old.

MPY/DIV expression inputs act similrly to MULTIPLY and DIVIDE knobs
LFO expression input can be setup with some dip switches to either:
replace RATE knob
replace DUTY knob
Accept a pulse instead of a CV/expression to act as a sync signal to slave the LFO to an external source, in this mode teh RATE knob acts as a multiplier of the incoming sync signals period.

This thing sounds v. fun.

Would love to try using the Lorre-Mill Double Knot to slave the LFO and cause unheard of bonkers.

Have worked extensively with the 4046-M and love it but as you know one can never have enough sound destroyers. This guy also sounds a bit more 8-bitty than the squelch-mulch of the 4046. In any event, hooray.

Also, just rec'd 856 last night and now staring at the clock to make it go faster so I can leave work and play with it.

Lastly, hi.

Unreal. Been off-and-on sweating a PLL since TapeOp interviewed Schumann in '05ish, Dug around a little the past few months through the various clones, bought one a month ago (given my noob status here on ilf, I won't mention the builder)- pedal is killer, no regrets, but damn what are the odds that this thing was in the works. How the f did I not find this thread?? Oh well.

Agree that from the clips the fuzz seems a more 8-bit than the PLL clone I've got, so maybe that means this wouldn't be too much of the same thing (...convinces self...) Esp with the lfo/arp abilities.
