progress will be slow, because I'm in NY and don't have the space for proper tools to make the actual routing quickly. My technique is drill lots of holes then file/sand it down.

I'm sure the drilling and file/sanding will work! Not having space and proper tools does make it harder but I'm looking forward to the results (not pushing you in any way but: please hurry up, haha). I guess in that case going for a VI plate is definitely a better option than making your own though, unless you have access to a laser cutter or something

There's actually a woodworking place near me you can rent by the hour. Only issue is that they require you to pay for their class first. And last time I tried they couldn't even figure out when the next one was. I've accomplished so much I shouldn't have with a drill and patient sanding.

My other option was go for an aluminum pickguard and get it custom cut. But I couldn't think of a shape I liked better.

I'm out this weekend, so parts shopping will probably start next weekend and then I'll probably start once I get a pickguard and new bridge in.

This is officially my favorite guitar and I'm not even done building it. I did not expect this thing to work as well as it does.

I have to be up for work in like 4 hours and now I need to walk home to try and get a bit of sleep. Been toying with this all night.

It's almost complete string isolation. The only real bleed is the D-string gets picked up by 2 pickups. I can fade in strings as I please and can have a ton of control over the tonal balance of the thing. It's almost like an EQ, but every section of the instrument maintains full detail

Ever wanted to have your low end thump like a heartbeat while the rest of your chord plays on? Ever wanted the clarity of the chord to sustain, while still getting a wavy tremolo?

Seriously, makes me wish I was way better at playing with knobs in real time.

Neck is comfy. Solid weight, not too heavy. Can't wait to pop in the Tele sized p-90ish bridge once it's ready.

Have you thought about concentric pots? or is that what you have there? I can't tell from the picts

i have push/push for the 3 angled humbuckers currently installed so that I can coil split them. And then a standard pot for the bridge volume. So it's 4 volumes, three of them with switch between single coil and humbucker. No tone control, since I don't use it 90% of the time.

My long term plan is to add a multi-pin XLR out so that I can have a pedal with more controls, 3 outputs for individual string pair FX, maybe 3 simple fuzz circuits built in so that I can fuzz each pair individually.

You'll need a masters degree in knobs to be able to control that there thingmajig in conjunction with a pedal board.

Nah, the pedal would take over the controls. So, it would have essentially a few foot switches instead of having to use the knobs in real time.

Love the look of the three hot rails as one pick up

Why not add a piezo in the bridge?

I thought about that, but I'm generally not a fan of that sound. Though I've never heard that done on a tele. Maybe I should try that. I've never tried a piezo in the head stock, and also considered that, but it seemed like more work to hide the wiring somehow.
