I contact mic'ed the headstock of one of my guitars temporarily, and that shit sounded AMAZING. Insanely resonant.

Yes! That thing is amazing. My favorite Tele bridge I've used.

good to know!
my MIM FSR needs a bridge update.
I bought a tremolo block for my USA G&L Legacy from them a while ago and the difference was spectacular. :D

Final pickup arrived. Will wire it this weekend, then start working on the multi-pin and corresponding foot controller.

This project seems awesome! I'm super intrigued by the idea of accessing the guitar controls via footswitch, not to mention the creative use of pick-ups. The guitar you assembled with the killswitch and etched pickguard was one of a handful of projects that really inspired me to want to put together my own project guitar, so I'm looking forward to seeing (and hearing) how this one turns out. Any chance you're bringing any of these guitars to the ILF get-together in Philly in October?

Sure, can definitely bring them. This thing is ifnished, really need to post a proper update on it.

The etched tele was professionally done by Rhinehart guitars under dminner's direction. I just did final wiring, switched the bridge, and did the final setup stuff.

Feel free to ask any questions if you need help on that build you're working on.

Thinking of starting a similar project. What kind of pickups did you use? Most of those rail humbuckers seem to be like strat pickups, meaning they are wider in the middle where the wires are soldered to the pickups so it would be impossible to fit three pickups s snuggly next to each other. Yours seem to fit nicely though? How did you avoid this (if you understand what I mean)?
