Just stained my warmoth telemaster body and I figured I'd start a thread for it
Here it is before the stain, with some hardware on it
This is actually already so much fun. Can't wait to play it

Well, first of all, I am the champion of hack jobs. This time I've decided to invest a little more and build something to last. I have a pretty visible edge between the front and sides of the stain. I think I'll try to tape it off and go over another time on the sides and the back tomorrow

And I was actually thinking of a sticker for the pickguard chank! The pink important one only looks good in the picture though, I can assure you that

I found a Swedish brand that sells powders based stains. Mix with boiling water and applied with a brush or sponge. It's called Hardins Äkta Bets but I'm sure there are American equivalents

Really cool. Thanks for the info. I think I can get similar stuff here in New York from a brand called Kremer.
Hey that's cool! Good to know for possible projects for when I move to the USA. A pro with these is that they cost about $3 per packet (1/4 of a liter, which is good enough for approx a billion guitar bodies). I think I found a neck too. A fender licensed thing from WD music. Anyone have any experience with these?

Be wary taping stains. They can peel off with the tape. The beauty of stains and grains though, is that it's much more forgiving to do spot fills. Water some right down and blend and build up. If you need to, you can always sand back and do a watered down light coat to finish it off.
I've done transparent colours before (used a cherry red) and put Black Japan (a very light coat) over the top. I can tell you straight up that would look rad on this beast if your spots are bothering you.
WWPD?
