I kinda like all of 'em but feel like new Fenders have become ridiculously expensive for mass produced instruments, and given my experience with Fenders I doubt the quality is on par with what they charge.

If these were cheap like the early pawn shop range was it'd be cool, but if someone wants a not-tele tele for £1500 they might as well get a independent builder to do one for them.

The jag-strat is so dumb I love it

Yeah I would not pay what they're charging for any of these weirdos

Yeah that's what I thought too. I bought the Pawnshop Bass VI in April 2013 for €750ish, and after spending about 200-250 more on proper strings, a Staytrem bridge to get the intonation on the low E right plus labour costs for a local luthier to set all this up, I had a great instrument in hand for about €1k that I still grab almost everyday, played dozens of gigs with and used extensively during 2 album recording sessions. I just can't see this Parallel Universe series being somehow perfect straight out of the box as there is no indication that the quality is going to be that much higher than the Pawnshop series (I assume they're also MiM?) even though the price range is twice as high.

They almost had me with the jag strat, but that vol/tone control plate look so awful on that body.

Ah man that blue tele is like exactly what I've been wanting them to make but that price is STUUUUUUPID. Why can't it just be a squire vintage modified or something?

So they can make money off of mediocre overpriced stuff before they make more money off of mass produced subpar stuff.

The flat blue, orange bodies & silver sparkle pickguard, yes. I'd rock one of those thinlines fo sho.
Pricing....no ty.

Def a missed opportunity. They should have gone with the strat-style output jack, even if it meant messing with the angle to fit. Everyone uses their strap as a cable pinch anyway.
The bottom contour of the pickguard to the v/t+jack plate clashes without an offset body to...offset it. It also makes the entire pickguard shape look like a mistake. I'd like to see one with a strat jack+pickguard matching the body color and no plates anywhere.

Maybe it's just from playing fender basses and offsets so long but I prefer the jaguar jack placement! Right angle cable and then through your strap, less fiddly to put the cable in.

Yeah, I have 3 instruments with the jack perpendicular to the body's top, but I plug the straight-end of my coiled cable into guitar, right angle plug goes into the first fuzz which typically has top-mounted jacks.

I like those teles. But like most things Fender: I'll just Warmoth it out.
