Super Sonic owners, report in!

Postby worra » Fri May 19, 2017 10:02 pm

I just picked up an orange Fender Super Sonic, looking to hear from some other folks who have these (or the vista Squiers). What do you love about them, what do you hate about them, what mods have you done, etc.

I'll start with a shitty photo:

That orange finish is great. It's actually making me want one. I'd have to do something about that top switch though, cus I'd keep hitting it and would drive me crz. I never buy any guitar with a switch there cus I have zero rhythm hand discipline.

I love the finish as well. I'm also usually bothered by switch position there, but when I'm playing the guitar, it doesn't seem to be too in the way. Perhaps it has to do with the short scale, or the location of the strap pegs, but it hasn't bothered me yet!

How would you describe the humbuckers?

Posted about mine here: viewtopic.php?f=188&t=56173

Can't say how the mods compare to the original but I dig it regardless. It is probably one of the easiest guitars I have ever played. I've had an idea to put an arcade button killswitch in a guitar that removes the ground from the circuit, and I am thinking of doing that to my Supersonic.

Spicy. They’re the Fender atomic ones so they have pretty decent low end and a nice amount of high end rolloff so they arent too screechy
