I say keep it as is and upgrade shit under the hood. That guitar is beautiful!

I third this, it's a cool looking guitar, maybe swap pickups and tuners if they suck and go from there. It's got a cool old Fender Bullet thing going on, I also love the banana headstocks.

If you do wanna make it more Tele-ish since it's got a humbucker bridge route... I have a stock pickup set from a 94 MIM tele up for free in the FS section if you wanna pay shipping. You could Drill some new top holes in the pickguard and mount it there.

Or look into a Dimarzio Fasttrack. I have one in my tele with a 3-way switch, it has tons of sparkle fora tiny blade humbucker I love it.
