You people like aluminum shit on your guitars, these wacky things had aluminum necks, I think they are amazing.

I've wanted to try one but I'm always weary of buying vintage shit without trying it out. I love their aesthetic though, so weird and outside the box from anything back then and even today. Definitely under appreciated

Ever since seeing a video of Marc Ribot using a Wandre in the studio playing with the Lucien Dubuid Trio, I've wanted to get my hands on one. I love that stuff. Can't afford one, though, which makes me a sad panda.

I'm super curious about the mechanics of some of those bridge designs.

We've posted about him elsewhere, but Harvester Guitars does some really sweet Wandre-influenced guitars.

^ Yeah, my Harvester (042) is a copy of a Wandre Cobra, one of Wandre's least wigged-out designs. I have had my hands on an original Cobra (and Anthony at Harvester has one, too) and I much prefer the copy. Better bridge, better trem, better pups, better hardware all around.

Buddy Miller plays Wandres. He is an awesome Nashville roots/country guitarist/producer. The bridges have loops for the strings to go through and they can be adjusted to set the intonation. Very "out of the box" designs.

I have been on the fence about buying one many times and, ultimately, I never do. I am sure they are cool, but I have a feeling they are a lot of work to keep functional(or even in tune) and I have enough half broken guitars laying around.

They are among the coolest looking guitars ever made, though.

I think I remember reading Buddy Miller has said he sometimes has to use Crazy Glue to keep his together.

Just got word that my goldthwait is heading into paint. Much excite. Already talking with Anthony about a more Wandre guitar/aluminum neck. Down to choosing between his take on the black sparkle one at the bottom of repoman's post, and the power tone.
