New Squier Tele basses - medium scale!

Literal Tele shape rather than the 70's Tele Bass style (which was essentially a '51 P style):

Interesting. Should be retailing around $300 if consistent with the new offsets.

The "Special" is ugly imo but I like the second one...

Agreed. The J pickup and the mudbucker don't seem to mix visually. Don't know what would have. Maybe the same '51 style or a Mustang Bass type split-coil?

Mud - P - mud. My favorite combo

Wonder how useful the switching actually is with just that one pickup.

if they had used the old style single coil mounted in a Tele bridge for 4 string it would look killer with the mud bucker.

and it should be string through.

Yeah, but it's a shortscale Hohner. I added a Musicmaster bridge, pulled the SS and dropped in a Dimarzio model one with coil tap. The thing sounds HUGE now.

Love this thing:

Unless these turn out to be hunks of flaming shit,
IT WILL BE MINE.

Obviously I have to budget a proper set of strings for it, too. Flats, my friends. FLATS.

You don't need a luthier...you need a drill. ;)

Did you just drill the holes directly on the other side of the bridge? And did you add the little metal things?

Yep. Mark the holes. Make the holes. Then make the back holes the same size as your ferrules. Then stick all the parts back together. SUSTAIN FOR DAYS.
