I've got a couple of the EGC bolt ons, and they sound and feel great with a back bone, but work equally well with the standard neck plates I had lying around when I put the guitars together

well, I wouldn't say theres any pain. just wasn't sure if it was some normal/weird oxidation process or something.

That's normal with metal necks. Especially if there is any polishing compound residue still on the neck.

Got another one coming in. Acid dipped Tyranny with a Denison neck, I haven't seen any other fet necks Tyrannies so it's pretty exciting for me.

We'll definitely want to see pics when it gets there.
I wonder how the neck dive will be. The Tyranny bodies are pretty light, right?

Yeah, my Tyranny is lighter than my Standard by a fair amount, but the Denison necks are the lightest they make as well as the fattest. They're hollow so I expect neck dive to be non-existent or negligible at best.

i know a guy on the Gretsch Pages forum who had a fully aluminum Strat built...chambered body and hollow neck. he says it's brilliant, literally, and not as heavy as you'd expect.
