So, some guy on Talkbass used to made strap extenders for his ASAT basses. He'd replace the neck plate with this custom thing he'd designed that had a big arm on it. He stopped making them, but one day I sent him a few questions about the materials he used to construct it, and if he still had any drawings/plans for it.

He said he was done, and was no longer producing it but not only answered my questions, but offered to send me his prototype as he'd never use it again.

So, 18 years after I bought this thing, I can finally play it with relative comfort and joy.

I just can't understand how something so fundamentally simple and cheap to make that effectively provides balance to so many ungainly guitars isn't a common sense item and an available accessory from any number guitar brands famous for neck diving insturments.

I've seen those before! Also love the look of a Mockingbird bass, but never tried one. Guess it makes sense that they'd have a ton of neck dive though.
This is a very impressive collection of Roto Toms. That's 21 Roto Toms in all. That is only $33.00 a Roto Tom.

I scored a '77 Kramer 250B for a steal last week. I love it already, here it is along my refinished Blacktop Jazzy.

A previous owner put a Bartolini jazz pickup in the bridge and sawed one half off the pickguard. Also, this pickguard is still held on by random PZ-drive wood screws. It'll get a new one, i taped the curves off with tape to simulate how it would look with a more trapezoid / Gibson Grabber style pickguard, while, in accordance with this piece's history, keeping the hard horizontal edge in the middle over the humbucker.

Picked this up last weekend at a flea market for $80. KTone LP style semi-hollow bass. Passive Pups. Broke it in at a double booked gig on thursday. Neck pickup has lots of low end on tap, just what I was looking for in terms of presence in a band mix. Bridge pickup doesnt have as much low, but has a lot of clarity for doing leads and looping little things/tapping that the neck pup lacks. Its a good variety of sounds and super inspiring to work with. Very pretty too.

Nothing that cause so much sonic devastation and damage to my wallet can be considered holy! It's proven that rickenbackers are the number one cause of GAS amongst bassists. Thanks for the kind words. I'm a total Geddy/Burton/Lemmy/Cisneros freak
