Dude!

That is an awesome power supply

What are the chances that one to power my whammy and time bender is already in the works??

Thanks!

I don't have any plans for an AC power supply, unless I happen to find chips that'll let me do it in a cooler way than just slapping a transformer in a box... in order to make one this size for AC it'd have to be -very- low current or very high frequency... and I don't know if 1) I can find the parts to make that and 2) these pedals are OK with high frequency AC.

that makes me sad but the one you are making would be a big improvement over my one spot

Somewhere between -1 and 0. Closer to 0, I think. : p

The Eventide pedals need about 500mA (according to Google).

They can get by on 300, I think sometimes! I think I powered it with a red cable on a PP2+ in output 5, and making sure nothing's plugged into 6. Holy hell, I miss having a Pitchfactor.

They need anywhere from 380mA at power up and 300mA from there out. Other choices currently available that make way more sense :idk:

This thing looks great for smaller, standard current stuff. Maybe pair two of 'em for more versatility, but Eventide and Strymon would hog all available power.

Snapped this picture to better show the size. For those that don't know, the Reverberator is MXR sized (and way awesome):

Oh! You probably saw the requirements for the power supply it runs on. It takes a 5V DC power supply, and it takes 1.5A to run it at full power, due to the inherent inefficiency of the linear regulators. (It works out to consuming 7.5 watts to make 4.5, so 60% efficient at full load).

Ok, so I can't seem to just let this thing sit... so, opinions, please!

For $50 more, I can make each output handle twice the power, and be 20% more efficient. Good idea? Basically, it would use more efficient, and WAY more expensive regulators.

And I'm thinking for you kids that like high current pedals, I'll look into a version with 2 500mA sections. Likely with 4 outputs, but they're tied together in 2 sections.

Cool? Cool. Only 'cause I love you guys.

Good question, started it late last night, then went to bed. Searched over there earlier today and it's nowhere to be found :?:

I like high-output section idea. Don't necessarily need the extra power in the normal ones. HM.

I like this a lot. I need another power supply and this seems like a good option, especially because of price. Plus you know it's a quality build. Bonerz I haz.

as one of those kids, i'm looking for something that'll power 3-6 high current pedals....
just 2 and i'll pass.
